10° Leo 15’ at 1:18 AM

This Full Moon is a “Perigee Full Moon,” which makes it one of the biggest and brightest Full Moons of the year and highlights the archetype of Leo – the King, the Lion, the power of will, and the quest for integrity. Leo calls on each of us to shine our light, our individual essence. This is a special opportunity to “get ourselves together,” to figure out who we are and where we stand, and to express ourselves. Leo loves to perform, so create a ritual that support and encourage you to live your own truth. Have fun!

This Full Wolf Moon in Leo conjunct Mars retrograde. Mars stimulates our ability to respond to life with creative assertive action.  Mars is moving backward to reclaim of sense of that self-directedness and self-expression. This is a perfect time to take a break from your daily soap opera drama and consider a new plot twist. This is a good time to be aware of the actions you need to take.

Thursday, December 31, 2009
10° Cancer 15’ at 2:13pm

This Full Moon is also a Blue Moon.  A blue moon can only happen when the first full moon of a month happens in the first few days of it and the month is long, allowing time for the Moon to make a full cycle inside one month. To read more about the blue moon go to: http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/29dec_bluemoon.htm

A Lunar Eclipse is when the shadow of the Moon is on the Earth.  Eclipses  Eclipses are “path correctors” that open doors and invite us to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of your life that needs your attention.  To check out the Partial Eclipse of the Moon at http://www.shadowandsubstance.com/

  • Supply suggestions: fire proof cooking pot to toss the burning paper inside, candle with matches or lighter, water (to put out the fire afterwards), and smudge sticks for cleansing.

 Full Moon Purging

  •  Cleanse your sacred area with an opening prayer, a sage smudging, and/or by burning some incense. Invite your guides, angels, masters, or teachers to be at your side throughout the ceremony.
  • Light one or more candles. Look to the skies. Breathe in the night air.
  • One by one, read out loud the words you have written on each slip of paper. Set your intention to release the item/addiction/attitude from your life. Set it to fire and place it in the calderon. If you have a campsite barbecue or bonfire going that’s cool, just toss the slips of paper into the fire one by one. If you are doing this ritual with a group of others take turns reading your words. If these things are too personal to read out loud, read them silently to yourself. Just remember… our words have power. Saying – “Be Gone” audibly and loudly can be very freeing. Go ahead, howl at the moon if you’ve a mind to. Have some fun!
  • Thank the spirits. Be safe. Put out the fire.

11°Aries 10

“When the moon is full, mankind is one!”

The Full Moon at 11degrees 10 minutes Aries on October 4 at 2:10 a.m. EDT follows the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd. Its Native American name is Harvest Moon, and because the Moon rises this time of year near sunset, it was used as an early evening light to pick the autumn crops of corn, pumpkins, squash, wild rice and beans.

This Full Moon will intensify your feelings of independence and the desire to start something new is highlighted. New ideas or intuitive flashes of insight are possible. Intuition and creativity may be heightened, and personality, temperament, disposition, anger, physical appearance and individuality will be issues.

Parts of the body ruled by Aries include the eyes, head, nose, mouth, ears, forehead and brain. Its ruling planet, Mars governs the blood, muscles, and the adrenal glands. It rules headaches, migraines, vertigo, inflammation, eye afflictions, neuralgia of the head and face, high fevers, skin eruptions, nervous exhaustion, sinus troubles, hyperactivity, strokes, delirium, brain damage, concussion, head accidents, and insomnia.

The Angel of October
October’s angel teaches us that the greatest fruit of our personal harvest is understanding ourselves.

Shamanic Feng Shui:

  •  Check the Family Gua – it is the middle left side of your home. This area is about self esteem, solid foundations and supports your financial obligations. This area is about nurturing and growth. You might want to p ut a beautiful healthy green plant here.
  •  Next check your Children and Creativity Gua – It is the middle right section of your home. Since this is the place for future projects and new ideas make a collage of the things you value and put it in this area.

This Full Moon Affirmation:
“I trust my instincts to act. I know that as a creation of Spirit, I am a worthy and intelligent person, so my actions are automatically beneficial to myself and others.”

The Moon Festival for year 2009 is October 03, 2009

In China and throughout many Asian countries people celebrate the Harvest Moon on the 15th day of the eighth month of their lunar calendar. The date in the Western calendar changes yearly. This year, it falls on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

The Harvest Moon or Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhong Qiu Jie) is a day of family reunions much like a Western Thanksgiving. Chinese people believe that on that day, the moon is the roundest and brightest signaling a time of completeness and abundance.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, children are delighted to stay up past midnight, parading multi-colored lanterns into the wee hours as families take to the streets to moon-gaze.

It is also a romantic night for lovers, who sit holding hands on hilltops, riverbanks and park benches, captivated by the brightest moon of the year!

Traditional foods for a Chinese Mid-Autumn feast are red — for good luck. Lobster and salmon are particular favorites along with apples, pomegranates, roasted peanuts, pomelo, chestnuts, fatt koh (sponge cakes) and moon cakes.

Mid-Autumn Moon Cake Recipes
By Yan Can Cook, Inc

Makes 2 dozen
1 can (17-1/2 ounces) lotus seed paste
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts

Dough
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2-cup non-fat dried milk powder
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup solid shortening, melted and cooled
1 egg yolk , lightly beaten

1. Mix lotus seed paste and walnuts together in a bowl; set aside.

2. Sift flour, milk powder, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat eggs on medium speed until light and lemon colored. Add sugar; beat for 10 minutes or until mixture falls in a thick ribbon. Add melted shortening; mix lightly. With a spatula, fold in flour mixture. Turn dough out on a lightly floured board; knead for 1 minute or until smooth and satiny. Divide dough in half; roll each half into a log. Cut each log into 12 equal pieces.

3. To shape each moon cake, roll a piece of dough into a ball. Roll out on a lightly floured board to make a 4-inch circle about 1/8-inch thick. Place 1 tablespoon of lotus seed paste mixture in center of dough circle. Fold in sides of dough to completely enclose filling; press edges to seal. Lightly flour inside of moon cake press with 2-1/2 inch diameter cups. Place moon cake, seam side up, in mold; flatten dough to conform to shape of mold. Bang one end of mold lightly on work surface to dislodge moon cake. Place cake on ungreased baking sheet. Repeat to shape remaining cakes. Brush tops with egg yolk.

4. Bake in a preheated 375 degree F. oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a rack and let cool.

Full Moon in Pisces
Friday, September 4, 2009
12:03 PM Eastern Time

This Pisces Full Moon is a portal to our higher mind and our higher conscience. This planetary energy is providing us the help we need to release long-standing patterns. Full Moon in Pisces can be a bit dreamy, so use this full moon’s energy to execute the discipline of meditation and embody the positive spectrum of Pisces: Enlightenment!

Key Phrase: I BELIEVE or I MERGE

Pisces is a mutable (adaptable) sign and is ruled by the planet Neptune. Pisces is the need to dissolve, to shape-shift and become one with a larger truth.

Positive: adaptable, artistic, careless, compassionate, deep, dreamy, easily-led, selfless, sensitive, happy, humorous, hypersensitive, idealistic, imaginative, ingenious,  intuitive, inventive, kind, loving, mystery,  open, poetic, prophetic, receptive, spiritual, visionary, Sensitive deep dreamers, understanding, Cares for needy people, Spiritual, mystical, psychic, Romantic, artistic, poetic

Negative: secretive, self-sacrificing, confused, deceitful,   hopeless, immoral, impractical, impressionable, indecisive,  spiteful, escapism, greedy,  unworldly, vague, deceptive,  weak-willed, wild, misdirected, misunderstood, woolly, intangible, intoxicated,  Escape by fantasy ,Withdraws into isolation, Introverted, retiring, shy, pathetic, Suffering, personal sacrifice, Addictions, Savior-Victim games

 ASK YOURSELF:

Do I spend most of my time grabbing and craving for more things; trying to fill your inner emptiness with a multitude of possessions?

  • What can I freely give away?
  • What can I share?
  • What do I feel passionate about?
  • What leaves me with a feeling of excitement?
  • Do I fully embody this vibration?
  • How do I share it with others?
  • How does the world see me?

 Celebrate this Full Moon:

  •  Go out and allow the energy of this big, beautiful Moon to energize your prayers and intentions.  Create a ceremony of healing and thanksgiving. Honor all those who help you (in every dimension).
  • Rradiate peace and calm through group prayer and meditation and ritual.
  • Get a massage or Reiki treatment.
  • Use this time of diverse feelings to learn more about yourself and your rhythms and hopefully grow from them.
  • Sit by the light of the Full Moon give thanks and express gratefulness for your blessings.

 Shamanic Feng Shui Tip:

  •  Take an Epson salt or sea salt bath to clean your aura. Add rose quartz (for self-love) and amethyst (which clears negativity and clear away toxins) to your bath water.
  • Clear out your space, your personal space. Use sage, sprays, singing bowl or tingsha bells.
  • Clean your closet! I’m talking about taking the time to go through your clothes and throw out or donate all the things that you haven’t used and probably didn’t even know you had (Pisces is about all the things you stuff in the closet and don’t want to deal with).
  • Go into all your junk draws (your hidden madness) and ORGANIZE them. This is a good way to reflect and stay out of trouble.
  • Use blue candles to release.

Shamanic journey: journey to the upper world to thank and honor your guides and teacher.

Affirmation for Pisces:  I dream magical and sublime dreams.
